secondly the "ö" letter in "Köln" on your post is greek. maybe dutch is a lost in the centuries ancient greek dialect (dialect= ç äéÜëåêôïò - ancient greek word!).:lol:

But to tell you the truth, the northern languages have not much to do with greek. And what do you mean with that "ö" Why should that come from greek? (Did I not get something?)

ö aka Ö (capitals) as i know it is a greek letter. nothing wrong with the letter tho. tttt i don't know any scandinavian language so i am not authorized to speak at all. it just seemed strange to see the usage of the specific symbol/letter.

anyway the Ö,ø sound probably the same in any language it's used.now if it's Greek or German or Norwegian,it's probably used to achieve that certain sound...

cologne is written Köln in german ,metalized, and Keulen in Dutch.
 
I guess that ö sign refers to the o umlaut. then it is Koeln.
Öö in greek is really f(ph). ftano=öôÜíù.

as for the humor:

Metalized, I think there is a misunderstanding with the letters. The german letters are not being "read" by all computers, that is why this ö=oe of german appears on your computer as the greek f. It has actually nothing to do with greek, is just a computer difference. Now I got it!!!

Some ppl can speak portuguese and english...
