Obviously it was both. Manning shedding those would-be tacklers to get the pass off was more impressive than the catch in my opinion. But the combination of both events in that single play makes it one of the greatest moments in sports history.

Being a Giants fan, I totally splooged when it happened.
Like KD said, it was both. Eli had to have some skill to get out of the pocket. But for Tyree to actually hold on to the ball, that was luck.
