I think the Pixies influenced Nirvana, maybe they didnt, but I think I read it somewhere. Kem, we need your expertise...

Yep spawny, the Pixies were pretty much the first band to start doing that alternative rock stuff. They were the forerunner to all the grunge and alternative music that came out during the late 80's and the 90's. They're great! One of my favouritestestest.

That depends whether you prefer simple three-chord songs with quiet verse/loud chorus/quiet verse/loud chorus parts like the Pixies or whatever it was the Pumpkins decided to do from one day to the next.

I've heard two Pixies albums (I think) but there's only one song that really stood out for me:

"Jefrey, with one f, Jefrey!"

The rest I didn't care for, but Chris Carter was so much of a Pixies fan that he named the lead character in Millennium after their singer. I kid you not .
