If you don't know...then you don't KNOW! If you've only heard the ballad Love is on the Way then you're missing out.....

I bought "The Lizard" when it came out, not for the ballad, but because of the kinds words I had read about them in some magazine or CD review somewhere, and I absolutely hated them! I still have the cd, so maybe I'll give it another try 20 years later.

I had no love for them till I heard this beautiful cover:

God, I remember when these dudes were playing local clubs in south Florida. They had "artistic differences" almost from the start. My friends and I figured they would not last as a group past the second album. We were wrong, but not by much--I think they got in two or three before they disintegrated. And they had a couple of hit songs too.

You gotta wonder why people who are a success as a group will break up and go into obscurity because they cannot get along personally. If they put their energy into resolving differences instead of expending it uselessly on bitterness and anger, they could make great music for a lot of years. Probably be much better off financially and artistically as well.

Farren, I don't know what that's from. I only have the first three albums, the self titled, the Lizard, and I did get Water, but Matt had left by then and it was the Jason show and I think at the time I felt a little betrayed that it wasn't the full band. This was before the internets so I didn't know the backstory that No Username relates. The first two are classics and way ahead of their time, and even Water is a strong album, but it was the beginning of.the end and I could feel it.

Their self titled and the Lizard were amazing. Water was a bit of a letdown, but Devil in the Details was quite good as well. Rumors abound that there is a reunion in the works. I know all he members are open to it based on recent interviews. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I loved this band and they totally blew me away the few times I saw them live.

It's from Devil in the Details and honestly, I have no idea how the rest of the album is. I've got to give these guys a more in-depth look...

Awesome band. I really got into the first album when I was in college, I wore it out. A really diverse rock album. Then the second album came out and they took off.
I saw them on the tour for The Lizard and the bass player had already been replaced. (The original bass player was on the Fox show "Studs" around that time.)
The second Matt Kramer left, I pretty much lost interest in the band, but I did buy the Water album, which has a few good songs on it.

This is one of those bands I still mention as a missed opportunity to make it huge in RNR. I think they would have been as big as say, Alice In Chains if they could have kept it together.

Like Extreme and a few other talented bands that get lumped into the generic hair metal label, they had so much more to offer. While The Lizard is my favorite album, I would not overlook Water or Devil in the Details. While they are missing a little something w/out Kramer, it is clear from those albums that Bieler was the real creative force in the band.

Agreed. Extreme's "3 sides" album had some real thought behind it. Saigon Kick is one of my favorite "listen to and have silly thoughts while drinking margaritas" bands.

I think that's a compliment. I have a B-sides/rare tracks CD of theirs somewhere... good neat stuff - Studio samples, acoustic version of their ballad, neat.
