For Thraxx Chuck Berry Is Metal

Chuck Berry probably has as much or more influence on Rock and Roll than Elvis. Just watching that guy play guitar is an experience---very similar to watching Stevie Ray Vaughn. The guitar is an extension of their body. Great stuff.

I've always said that Chuck Berry is one of the most important artists in the history of Rock And Roll. He, along with guys like Bo Diddley and Little Richard took the Blues to the next level. Without them, there would be no Rolling Stones, Elvis, or The Beatles.

I feel like Little Richard was the guy that really deserves the "King of Rockn' Roll" title. Fuck Elvis!

While I agree that Elvis is no king...Little Richard is more of a queen! Oh well, he's still cool in my book!:notworthy

Oh hell yes... and don't forget to add Jerry Lee Lewis. Anybody that lights his piano on fire during his show is cool in my book. To some of the younger people on this board, this thread is starting to sound like a classic rock revival, but the guys listed in this thread (Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley) rocked their asses off man. I love listening to that shit. Actually, the cover The Beatles did of "Rock and Roll Music" by Chuck Berry is killer. It's not Chuck on guitar, but Lennon sings his balls off on that tune.
