Legendary Bay Area Thrashers FORBIDDEN To Reunite For Select Shows - Oct. 5, 2007 Legendary San Francisco Bay Area thrashers FORBIDDEN will reunite for several shows in 2008. Russ Anderson (vocals), Craig Locicero (guitar), Paul Bostaph (drums), Matt Camacho (bass) and Glen Alvelais (guitar) will bring something that so many of their peers, old-school fans and especially the younger generation of fans that never got to see FORBIDDEN live have been asking for: a true FORBIDDEN reunion!

"We want to show everyone what we used to do was as relevant and powerful as anybody else of that era," Locicero said in a statement released to BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "The gravity of our influence is really dawning on us now and we're very humbled. We owe it in turn back to those who supported our influenced us in the past. We'll be concentrating mostly on 'Forbidden Evil' [1988] and 'Twisted into Form' [1990] material to give the people what they want. The time is right and it's gonna be a lot of fun. 2008 will also be the 20th anniversary for the release 'Forbidden Evil'. It'll be VERY HEAVY and we're all excited to get started."

Added drummer Paul Bostaph (ex-SLAYER, TESTAMENT): "Though out the years I've been asked about FORBIDDEN by many people. Fans and friends alike have been wanting to see us play live again. I'm very happy to see this become a reality! I've been honored to play in some great bands. To play with Craig, Glenn, Matt and Russ (a truly great vocalist) again will be a longtime wish come true. I hope FORBIDDEN fans get a kick outta this as much as I will!"

FORBIDDEN is looking to book one Bay Area show for late January early February and look into some festivals in Europe, Japan and Australia starting in late May. These will all be exclusive gigs and there are no plans for a full-fledged tour, at least not in the immediate future. Locicero says, "We'll put our blood and guts into it and give it all we've got! Get ready to have your heads ripped off, motherfuckers!!!"

Any promoters and booking agents that need to get a hold of the band can reach out to them at www.myspace.com/forbidden__evil.

Biggest killer newz since Heathen reformed!

competent band but there is something about their song structures that always annoyed me

I know, and that's what I mean, try again and do it properly. Mr. Anderson is one of the best thrash vocalists ever so if that's the case you should make a patch that says "PINKAGE" and sew onto that lovely t-shirt of yours.

just to add insult to injury ... let me throw Heathen in the same filing cabinet :loco:

 Heathen si the ONLY old thrash band that has recorded something 100% worthwile in latter years. Others have had a song or two that's killer but nothing that doesn't reek of longing back to the old timez while Heathen still feel true to themselves and jsut in the same spirit and shit instead of wishing those times would come back. Wow that was incoherent but nevermind.

So you're a thrashhead who likes, Slayer, Slaughter and Sadus? Is it something about the logo style?

hehe ... not sure ... but it might have to do with the somewhat unconventional song structures or how the music flowed (or not flowed) in either bands case ... also, the aggression was not quite there in either bands music to be really in the same leagues as Exodus or Vio-lence ... Death Angel even ...

but I also think you might be looking at both bands from a musicians point of view ... which I am not.

Hmm, perhaps. I happen to really like Forbidden and never thought about it from a musician's point of view myself. Along with Sanctuary and Toxik, they combined certain elements of more "heavy metal" I much enjoyed.

Well I'm not, cause I am not a musician, and I still think they kickass big time
However taste is like the ass.. (although Im sure mike soon will write a long essay about how you are wrong and his opinions are right)

I'm certainly looking forward to a forbidden gig and hearing whoever he is scream his lungs out cause he does it oh so well :headbang:

Edit: // actually johanna

Well, I see where you're coming from but I simply think you're wrong. Partially correct about the aggression part (though some songs by both Heathen and Forbidden are clearly as violent as some songs of others named above), but I don't really view shit from a musician's point of view, I'm just a hellbangning maniac who happened to end up in a some bands, not really a musician. I think thrash metal terror is bigger than blood, death and hatred though, but it most definitely has those basic stones to build upon. Heathen and Forbidden are more 'mature', I guess, and that's quite far away from the general charm of thrashing death which feeds on the pissed moods of the youth gone wild, be it on governmental injustice, devil-worship or just plain boredom. Still good though hellyeah.
