I was recently browsing my local FYE. This store usually has a really shitty selection of CDs. I came across one used CD that caught my eye. It was Forte's "Division". I wasn't going to pay $5 for something that I couldn't listen to first, so I came home and downloaded it. As soon as I heard this album I rushed back to the FYE to pick it up. The CD was mispriced and rang up as $3.99. I couldn't have been happier about this!
If you've never listened to Forte the best way to describe them is a mixture of power metal, bay area thrash, and weird progressive metal. I've downloaded another one of their CDs, "Stranger Than Fiction", and it's even better than Division! I wish I could find somewhere to buy their CDs, but everywhere seems to be lacking everything but Division.
Funny thing is that I discovered Forbidden with their "Twisted Into Form" album in a similar manner at a used CD store.
Check out Forbidden and Forte, you won't be sorry!
