Alongside Stormspell's Wrath "Mutants" reissue, this is the next major release I'm looking forward to. I think Forte are a great band and their earlier albums were severely overlooked. The band reminds me of a perfect combination of Helstar and early Metallica, which to me, makes the perfect Power/Thrash Metal band. Given that, I don't know too much about all of their releases. Aside from the 2012 album, plus the reissue of "Stranger Than Fiction", I've only owned "Division". I've started a thread to hopefully get forum members talking about the different albums to be included in the reissue. What's your favorite album?

Maybe Matt could give us some details about what will be included in the package, and also a cover scan or two...

We actually just finalized everything the other day. here is cover art.

OVERVIEW:
FORTÉ was founded in Oklahoma City in 1987 and in those early stages they band played an abundant of shows quickly establishing themselves within the flourishing underground metal scene by opening for bands like PANTERA, DREAM THEATER, FATES WARNING, WATCHTOWER, OVERKILL, SAVATAGE and TROUBLE. Signing to Germany’s Massacre Records the band released four critically acclaimed albums throughout the 90’s and just last year released, Unholy War, their first new album in 12 years. In 2011, Divebomb Records reissued a stunning deluxe edition of their debut, Stranger Than Fiction, yielding great results thus helping the band return to their former glory – including a coveted slot on this year’s installment of the Headbangers Open Air festival in Germany. This is just the beginning for FORTÉ as work has already begun on a new album.

Invictus is a brand new 2 CD set which features brand new cover artwork by Steven Cobb the man responsible for their captivating Unholy War cover and collects the remaining three out of print albums (Rise Above, Destructive and Division). All 32 tracks have been newly remastered by Jamie King allowing fans to complete their FORTÉ collection in one fell swoop.

This IS going to rule. I'd pay $10 bucks for that cover art, alone. Can't wait to hear "Division" again w/new remastering.

Matt, why did you go backwards, chronologically, on the discs? I notice you've done this on a few of your other releases. Just curious.

The original title of the set was called "Rise Above Destructive Division" so it went in that order title wise. I also didn't want to split up albums and Division was too long to share a disc. I think. Ha ha.

i am really excited about this - i am a johnny come lately to the band and this is a great way to get the older material!
