The Fire of the Awakening is possibly the best Darken has released since Thousand Swords, though I think I require a few more listens through to make up my mind completely. Regardless, the album exceeds all of his previous attempts at folk influenced metal.

What I've heard from the NEXT album is even better (samples at http://www.vinlandwinds.com/graveland ). Thousand Swords is still his best work, but it's only peripherally a metal release, and really has more in common with the first Lord Wind album than with anything else in the Graveland catalog.
