Axe Knight chants the spell of SLEEP.

Thou art asleep.

Axe Knight attacks!
Thy hits are decreased by 27.

Thou art dead.

I am sorry for anyone who has looked at this thread, I'm playing through Dragon Warrior again and I have all this crap stuck in my head.

I had expected more w33d references to finding the Herb.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that thou already hast a Torch lit in the cave.

115 experience and 5 gold pieces.

Goldmen are where the money is at. Between 168 to 198 gold pieces and they are easier to kill than a red dragon.

I disagree, but then again, that is nothing new for you and I, Alex. I can agree that there is a lack of meaningful sidequests, excessive leveling time, and primitive rpg battle strategy along with a less than compeling story line, but it is a simple and entertaining way to waste time.

Who could resist making a quick stop off at the Inn before delivering the princess back to the castle? And then repeatedly telling her "No!" whe she asks if you love her: "But thou must!"

I tried downloading a rom of this the other day and uh... all the characters were either naked or in speedos. I opened up one of the chests in the room...

"Thou hast found the dildo."

After the soldiers started talking about the bad stuff the "Dominatrix" was doing, I decided that either my rom was hacked or that Dragon Warrior is filled with over the top innuendos that I didn't quite understand as an 8 year old.

How is VII for the playstation, anyway? I was always tempted to buy that but never really went through with it. I suppose I might be able to find in on eBay still.

The dragon warrior games are amazingly successful in japan. So in similar to FF-f-fashion they don't change a lot from game to game to retain their audience. If you could endure 1 and 2 you'll probably feel right at home with 7 or 8. If you want to be hardcore, pick one of the more belated ones as your favourite like 3 and claim some obscure feature really makes that game for you.

Well, I didn't really like 2 or 3 very much. I remember I liked 4 quite a bit because they let you play as that merchant in a store and you could try to jew people into paying more than items were worth. I kinda lost interest in the game when it hit the final chapter and became more open ended and less FFish.

I'm pushing 16 with a flame sword, erdrick's armor, and a silver shield. I'm trying to do dragonlord's castel without a map. pretty intense getting lost in there before you have healmore.
