Free Album

I received this a few days ago. I've only listened to it 1.5 times so far (too much new music...), but I definitely enjoyed it, and for $2 and change, it's a no brainer if you like 'prog' at all.
That said, the word 'prog' is in quotations because this is the sort of prog that follows a formula rather than, you know, progresses anything in any way (although the songs are structured in a way that they move along nicely, creating atmosphere while still holding interest).
Fans of more recent Fates Warning, Redemption, Dream Theater, and bands of that ilk will probably enjoy this a heckuvallot more than fans of Katatonia will (which is not to say that there is not some crossover appeal between Katatonia and those bands). As such, I think this was probably the wrong forum to advertise in. Location, location, location, after all.

To re-iterate what others have said: It's not 'one of the best out there', but it is very good, and perhaps even Very Very Good if at least 3% of your cd collection is composed of Inside Out releases.
Points for going the whole nine yards and getting a Jens Bogren production job.

I agree with this. I actually think Silent Lapse would do better with the more mainstream rock crowd. They would be a good transition band for people who enjoy bands with scratchier voiced singers like Skillet, Three Days Grace, Flaw, Seether, 12 Stones, Finger Eleven, etc. yet are also wanting to explore the more prog rock/metal scene with more talented musicians than those bands I listed, but still with an accesible vocalist.
