Freezing in Nuendo/Cubase...I can't do it!

Is there something I'm missing? Anytime I want to freeze a track, when I go down to select that option, it's greyed out and unavailable...Is there some secret to when you can freeze tracks?

I'm contemplating buying this unless I figure it out:

I freeze my SSD by going to VST instruments and where it shows the menu of the instruments there is alittle snowflake icon.
