Hey if ya don't have any plans for St. Patty's Day, here's a last minute option for ya. Come on out to McCormick and Schmick's Seafood Restaurant (GREAT FOOD! NO COVER!) from 5-9 pm in downtown L.A. Located at: 633 West Fifth St. (213) 629-1929 and watch me become a musical chameleon with the Bruce Conte Band.
It's a kickass band, with some pretty heavy hitters - the always amazing Bruce Conte on guitar, Ruben Valtierra (Weird Al) on keys (he's an absolute riot and a great player!), Johnny Friday (Natalie Cole, Tom Scott, GRP Allstars) on drums and my favorite boy bassist, Lynn Woolever (aka "Rocco Pastorius" - come find out why!) who played with me in the Clarence Clemons project.
It'll be Old School R&B night all the way with songs from Bruce's days with the Tower of Power - watch Ruben morph into a keyboard player AND the Tower of Power horns - his solo releases, as well as some classic R&B. Don't laugh at me if he throws in some disco!!! They're silly songs but the crowd loves that stuff (especially after a couple of pitchers of beer!) It's all good fun. Make sure ya say hi if ya make it out. Hope too see some of ya.
