FS: 5150 Block Letter DEAD MINT, Duncan Hot Rails for Tele

Yeah. I don't joke when I say I keep my gear in great shape. For a 20 year old amp, I doubt anyone is going to find one that is more solid than this one.

disingenuous: not straightforward or candid; giving a false appearance of frankness

I don't recall saying that the amp was 100% original; I also don't recall forgetting to mention anything I replaced... how is that being candid?

How about I use the word flawless condition instead?

At the risk of getting into a semantics debate, I think Nate was more taking exception specifically to the use of the word "mint" (as opposed to "flawless", "pristine", "excellent", etc.), as it implies that it's in the same state as it was when it left the factory. Not like it really makes a difference in this situation since you indeed specified very clearly that it had been modded/had certain components replaced, so I'm sure everyone knew what you meant, just that it might not have been the best word choice, as the definition of "mint" is "unused or appearing to be newly made and never used"

Anyway, I'm sure it sounds great, which is really all that matters - good luck with the sale!

No offense to anyone in particular but I think just about anyone should have figured out exactly what he meant by "mint" after reading the description in his OP

that being said, I have a 5150 but if I hadn't just dropped $1500 on other things I would have bought this off you. I will, however, give that link of yours a good lookin at cause if those mods are as good as you say, I may need to get mine cracked open

Cheers man. The mods are really cool. The rhythm channel does have a pretty disgusting amount of bass, and the mod there helps a lot. Also, you can hit the front of the amp harder now with a boost, and the gain knob overall is more usable.

Shipping to Brisbane Australia? Postcode 4000 if that helps you. Definitely genuinely interested in this. Hopefully not gone by the time I get back in 3 weeks.

I gave someone a shipping quote to QLD, it was like $375 USD. If you're willing to pay the actual shipping cost, I'm willing to ship. It's all up to you. I can get a quote from the USPS. I know when I shipped to Russia it was like $400, and if I do that, you definitely DO NOT want to insure the package, otherwise you will pay customs up the ass. I can just pack it really well, as I always do.

Cheers,
