asking price possibly too steep when you can get a brand new one with free shipping exc case for only $100 more?
Free shipping that takes a couple of weeks, yes. This would be 3-5 days. Like, if you buy it on Monday it's there that same week. They don't give you the nice shipping when it's free, lol.
It's really not that steep man. I mean, the guitar is $700 new, $100 for the case. $800 total. You are paying $500 for the guitar+case+DiMarzio strap, and then $100 for shipping. With everything I'm including, and the dings not being really that big of a deal at all...I'm confident that this is a pretty fair price.

Funny... I ordered a hellraiser last week and received just yesterday. I ordered it in Black, but received one in Black Cherry ?
Anyway - i must say that this is an awesome piece og guitar - but the neck differs very much from the RG1527 that i used to play - its quite thicker.

I got it from my local dealer - so i will just get them to take a black one home and swap the guitars when it arrives... for sure i like the black one better.
