I'm looking for an efficient power conditioner at bargain price for my home studio.
Furman PL8 was my first choice but I'm new to this kind of device.
Any comments or advices?
Thanks
i got a monster power 3500 and it works great. id check it out. im sure the furman is good as well but ive never owned one. i know other people with the monster power and they like it too.
Upper mid-range UPS units will give you line regulation AND battery backup, so for a studio they're a great choice. I can't trust power to remain clean even if it has been for years... maybe that's just paranoia, I don't know...
For live gigging, having a line-regulated Furman is ideal. They're more expensive than the standard "power conditioner" models, which are basically just really nice rackmounted power strips with rack lights (thanks James for clueing me in on this.)
