hey guys.... two new toys:

has any one tried this?

http://www.fx-max.com/fxt/index.html

run more pluggs over network

seems pretty cool, would be nice to stick covolution reverbs and other hevey sends up on another machine to free up some cpu?

may of found a job for my old pc (other than powering the web cams to the live room!!!)

Also

"senderella"....

http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1433.html

it basically sends audio anywhere.... insert the plugg and say "send to channel x" the put another plugg where you want it reciving and say "retun from channel x" they can be redirects or pass throughs.... awesome for a whole bunch of things... you can even send between apps!!

so i guess in theory (if you wrapped it AND you really wanted to) you could send from say a snare track in sx to protools running an rtas only plugg like "d verb" and back ...sweet action!

Cheers

FXT works great. I use it with the Colortone & Hydratone plugs and it really takes the load off of the main computer. Before, I would have to freeze tracks if I wanted to use more than 4 or 5 instances of either plug. I hate freezing tracks but it's a necessary evil with heavy load plugs,

I'm using a P4 3.0, 1 Gig Ram, for the networked computer and now I can get 15 or more instances of my fav heavy load plugs no problem. Major change in the way I approach mixing now. Make sure you use a Gigabit networking card to maximize FXT's performance.
