GEORGE LYNCH: 'The Lost Anthology' To Surface Later In The Month - Nov. 16, 2005

On November 29, Deadline Music will release "The Lost Anthology", the long awaited release by guitar god George Lynch. This two-CD set features a slew of rare recordings, some of which appear on this collection for the first time ever. Also included on this show stopping gem is an exclusive preview of STONEHOUSE, Lynch's new side project with former SAIGON KICK vocalist Matt Kramer.

In addition to the rare material included, this set also contains five bonus tracks featuring some of metal's biggest names lending their vocals — Vince Neil (MÖTLEY CRÜE), John Corabi (UNION), Stephen Pearcy (ex-RATT), Phil Lewis (L.A. GUNS) and newcomers to the rock world who are creating a buzz in their own right, ICARUS WITCH.

Disc one focuses on the early years of George Lynch performing with his high school band XCITER and then segueing into THE BOYZ followed by the beginnings of DOKKEN. The end of the first disc showcases a handful of rare live recordings and an unreleased studio track. Disc Two features some of Lynch's most recent works, including his infamous LYNCH MOB and his newest side project STONEHOUSE with Matt Kramer.

George Lynch first entered our musical consciousness as part of the legendary rock act DOKKEN. Comprised of vocalist Don Dokken, George Lynch, bassist Jeff Pilson and drummer Mick Brown, the band enjoyed multi-platinum success with such monstrous hits as "Dream Warriors" (from the movie and soundtrack to "A Nightmare On Elm Street 3"), "Tooth and Nail" and "In My Dreams" with the videos in constant rotation on MTV along with massive radio play. This led to a slew of best selling albums, sold-out arena tours and world-wide notoriety.

Cashing in! George rips it up live, but I've never been impressed with his (post-Dokken) studio work. Pretty sure I have no desire to hear Vince Neil singing Paranoid... I wish these guys would dig a little deeper for their cover tunes.

I'm ordering it this weekend. As far as post-Dokken goes, I'd put Wicked Sensation up against any Dokken album. Better singer, better songs, better guitar work. Maybe my favorite guitar album ever.
