here's the goal of this thread. i want to compile a list of sites that give detailed descriptions on things like tonewood, hardware, electronics, etc. basically, provide all the info you should know about your gear, and gear you plan to buy in the future.

really helps when your trying to find the right way to do things, and save a few bucks doing them. and i got my questions answered without even having to ask. haha.
 
I have a question, I own a spider III Hd 150 combo stack and was wondering how i could get a tone somewhat close to a progressive metal standard.
 
For drums, I'd suggest http://www.drummerworld.com

They have lesson videos and all kinds of stuff. The users are also pretty knowledgeable, and they have big name drummers like Derek Roddy and Gavin Harrison post sometimes and answer questions.
