Ghost (Ghost BC in the states) new single *NSFW*

dunno, they were the Hot New Thing a few years ago when the first album came out. that album is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, but this sounds pretty different. more modern or something.

Yeah it's a bit poppier, a bit more epic-sounding. At first I was like, "Wha?" and then I was like, "Oooooh yeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhh". The imagery combined with "Hail Satan, Archangelo....Hail Satan, Welcome Year Zero" just won't get outta my head. It's just so damn catchy.

And then you have the winning combo of old saggy lady boobs and the singers untrimmed crotch with full on penis, lovely. Song is great though.

Strangely, that's what I like about it...not that I like looking at saggy tits (aside from the hot chick's nice boobs) and some dude's schlong, but I like the fact it was put in there. You've got bands like Danzig (which I adore) that are putting in strippers and porn stars in his videos and standing in front of a giant fire breathing skull, and then you have this, Satan meeting with all these older women and one young girl who then proceed to take their clothes off and don robes, without shame and unabashedly. It's a little more raw, I guess. It's truly without care of what people think. Anyone can put in hot chicks gyrating and grinding in their videos, but this dude puts saggy tits and his own cock in it. It's ballsy, if you'll forgive the pun.

Holy hell, why am I just stumbling upon this retro/doom/heavy metal band? I love this!

Kind of surprised you missed out on this band until now. They were talked about quite a bit a while back, and you were even in the threads mentioning them. ;) Make sure you listen to Opus Eponymous.

Thanks for the video though. I listened to the song, but I'm not going to watch the video. I don't want to see what's being described each time I hear it.

And who the hell is "Ghost" in the US, if this band had to change their name? It also seems rather inappropriate considering how the lead vocalist dresses like a Pope.

The video doesn't have anything to do with the song except that it's about Satan and they're hailing him. You're safe.

I've heard Opus Eponymous, and it's good. The problem with retro doom bands, however, is that sometimes it's too retro which just gets boring. The appeal to this new track is that it's very catchy and addictive.

Saw Ghost a couple of weeks ago but unfortunately they followed Gojira so it was a bit of an anti-climax to say the least. Ghost were okay and all the visual stuff was good if you like taking pictures like me but after about four songs it all got a bit samey. There seemed to be the same drum beat running through each song, you know the dum dum dum dum.........so we left halfway through the set. Better sounding on record I think than live, but look great!! :)

it's cool how they're bringing the Opeth, Mastodon, Ghost tour back. Was pretty cool last year in LA. Ghost was I think my favorite performance of the night aside from reliving the old school feeling of hearing two death-growl Opeth songs live.
