As it is being called. Two different angles of the same song same show amazing how she interperts the music, not just with her voice, but her emotions and movements;

I'm not an Annette basher - I've seen her with NW 4 times and had a fantastic time at each and every show. But THIS is how I want Nightwish to sound!I really hope I get a chance to see Nightwish v3.0 with Floor at some point (soon).

After getting into symphonic metal and finding After Forever, it didn’t take me long to decide that there were two classes of singers: Floor Jansen and everyone else. Floor is just completely dominant in vocal power and stage presence. Prior to this Nightwish gig, I’d bet less than 5,000 people in the U.S. had seen her sing live. But finally at long last, it’s great to see her star rising now.

I propose a new policy that every PPUSA has to feature Floor in one form or another. ;)

If Floor is not their new singer, I will more than likely be done listening to anything new they put out.

I won't go that far, but who they get next will make or break them for me. I only barely put up with Annette during this last run. Saw them four times during her run with the band, and it has never worked for me. Floor should clearly be the new singer IMHO, as it's a return to the classic sound of the band but there must have been something that made them go with Annette before. If they return to that squeaky sound, then I simply have plenty of other things to listen to.

This is what I said on another board, after seeing Nightwish in Orlando:

"I've seen Nightwish with both Tarja and Anette. Anette has been heavily criticized, but I felt she did a good job, and had a good stage persona... but her voice has a certain little-girl sing-songyness to it which I am not a huge fan of. Tarja is a stronger vocalist in a technical sense, but to me, she has a certain "coldness" in both her voice and her stage persona. I just saw Nightwish with Floor yesterday... she brought a great combination of both personality and vocal skill to the table. As far as I've heard, Floor is not officially a permanent member... for now she's just there for the tour, but IMO it would be a good thing if she joined as a permanent member."

I arrived pretty early, and had a chance to talk to several people standing around in the long-ass line outside the venue... Nightwish's fan base has a lot of people who came to the band from angles other than the prog and power metal direction that most on this board came from, so most everyone I talked to wasn't familiar with Floor, and was saying "Who the fuck is this new singer!?". But everyone I talked to after the show, including a couple skeptics I had talked to earlier, was like "Holy fucking shit!".

I don't think so. I mean, I will give the next album a shot, but Floor is my ideal Nightwish singer, there is no one I can think of that I'd rather have singing for the band.

So the new singer must have a previous experience?

I think people is too attached.....Tarja this, Floor that, Elize would be the perfect fit or Mr. Guitarist X is unreplaceble....

I really dont give 2 seconds thinking or rooting for a name to come up.

My approach is:

Next album is very good? I buy it. Even if it is blaze bayley on vocals.....

I couldn't hang with the audio on the first clip, but loved the second one.

I agree with everyone else on the planet. She belongs in Nightwish.

I feel the same way, I just keep thinking about Floor's burnout last year and that was from ReVamp's schedule! But I agree. She fits Nightwish perfectly

I am to the point where I'm tired of all the guessing...
As long as they write the album AFTER they pick a new singer, I think the fans will not be dissapointed. IE in the case of Imaginaerum being written better for Annettes voice, where as DPP was...not. IMO

That's my favorite Nightwish song... I'm crushed that I never got to see it performed live on this run by Floor. I hope they come back and do the states again one more time before they go back into writing mode and choose a new permanent singer.

After learning the songs, I suspect that fronting a well-funded band like NW would actually be far less stress and work for a seasoned professional like Floor than doing everything to get ReVamp off the ground with what I’m sure was little money.
