Not sure if there were any fans of "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey" by Canadian anthropologist Sam Dunn, but he has a sequel out, "Global Metal."

I picked up the DVD this week and it's a pretty cool film: He checks out the Metal scenes in off-the-radar places like India, Dubai, Israel, China, & Indonesia.

Worth checking out, IMO. I really liked the bit about India...

Awesome film. I saw it at an international film festival earlier this year and I highly recommend it.

ive just finished watching Global Metal. What an amazing documentary \m/
i shud've have mailed Sam Dunn to come over to my country and have a look on how it is very difficult for us metalheads to perform event if it is just a private function, due to a very tight religious and culture aspects. Even one time in a year would never happen...:puke:

i like the scene in this dvd from India where at one side there's a death/black metal gig so loud.. and on the other side, a traditional wedding ceremony was going on :headbang:

hahaha.. very nice
