No I don't try it, the 81 is a little thin but I think that is good foe me becouse I play a lot of legats stuff..the 85 in the bridge have more fat sounds?

But the 85 have minor otput and gain compared by the 81?
Although the EMG-85 has more measurable output than the 81, its frequency response and string interface are different. The 85 uses two Alnico magnet loaded coils with a wide aperture to maintain a beefy lowend and a fatter top end.

Ok, I don't need a tube screamer becouse my amp have all the gain and the tightness I need....When I'll change the strings I try to put 85 in the bridge!
Thanks Brett for infos!

Half the price of USA Select guitar, but still neck-thru and with SD pickups, seems very nice specs-wise...
mmmm.exuse me is true, sl3 is not a usa selected guitar but I tried one and it sounds good...go for it!

Sl3 is Japanese, it's not like the rest of the jackson line that is from korea.
Anyway SL3 is not a lightweight, it weighs a lot compared to SL1.
Same woods/pickup and I can say it has the typical usa selected quality.
Anyway SL1 is better, but SL3 really really rocks!
My guitarrist had one, sold it for a USA selected , the bastard has got: SL1 & RR1, awesome guitars. He got money so it can buy this hi-end stuff.
