Going to Rome and Florence

I'm going to Roma and Firenze in 2-3 weeks for some little holidays, just 7 days.
I was there in 1993 as an End-Of-School travel but I was too drunk to remember things, so this time I'm going with my wife... sober.

Apart from art, is there any place I should visit that doesn't appear in the guides? I mean restaurants, tavern, Metal temples...

Been there on both places some years ago, but I can't tell ya good places for metal and food! I always eaten stuff on random places

I'm trying to find something good, cheap and in the center of the city.

I'm there 7th to the 14th. My girlfriends mum has rented a house for the week and said i could come along if i pay flights and food, too good a deal to turn down!
