going to see sebastian bach tommorrow

the balls he had to relelase the heaviness (by hair metal standards) of Slave to the Grind after the success of the first disc ... damn

he was also on that first Slayer home video ... hanging with them backstage.

Ron Jarzombek and Steve DiGiorgio are playing in Bach's band...must be following Jon Schaffer's lead of hiring the overqualified. And another all-journeyman (Lemmy & Scott Ian excepted) Maiden tribute? Who the fuck buys these things?

classic post.

this show was great. one of the best times ever at a concert.
band is hardly overqualified. Bach lets them go apeshit and there is an obvious, fun, friendship between everyone. bach sounded great as well, really like in his early days and really treated the whole band like brothers.

Everyone gets their time in the spotlight and it certainly did not feel like the Sebastian Bach show. it put a smile on my face to see DiGiorgio totally having a blast. Laughing it up, doing the "chug a whole bottle of beer in one shot" between sets to the cheers of the crowd ... the band just looked and sounded in top form. Metal Mike, supposedely from the Halford band also, just fucking shreds !!!

Good times ... saw Digiorgio in the crowd briefly afterwards but he dissapeared before I could accost him. Really wanted to ask him on the differences in playing for someone like Bach and a death metal band ... to me it was this great irony in it.

huge fuckign turnout as well ... packed place ... easily 1000 or more at this "irish bar"

some pics ...

the gig was at Mulcahy's in LI ... they have the odd metal show there. last I saw Exodus play there on the Tempo tour on a shitty, snowy, Tuesday evening with maybe 100 people in the crowd. big difference from last night.

the band was already on at 11 when I got there, hmmm let's see. Skidrow stuff ...

18 & life
Monkey Business
Piece of me
I remember you ( this was really surreal with DiGiorgio  )
Mudkicker
Slave to the Grind
Youth GOne Wild

I think they palyed Riot Act ... was pretty buzzed and rockin ... not so sure

They played a new song that was going to show up on the new Bach disc ... some thing titles ... ________ Inside ... fucking great chuga chuga heavy stuff.

Then they playes something off of some recent project he was involved in ... this track was great, almost progressive, Maiden style ... the band was really into this one.

Of course a shitload of tracks from his solo discs ... 2 hours of shit ... I could have handled more.

hahaha ... that one ... he was like ...

We are the 40 year olds
We are the crutches wild

my fave song is definetelly Wasted Time ...

hey .. check out this band ... PAINMUSEUM ... those of you into old school metal will eat this up. its the guys from Bach's band ... and this crazy fucking singer Tim something ... he was right next to us all night yesterday looking exactly like in the pics on the website  ... there is a link to a video on that home page ... great Priest/Pantera type stuff done well.

EDIT ... hhahahaha ... that singer looks exactly like a blonde Tully

Awesome vocalist. Anyone remember when he was in a Broadway play? I think it was Phantom of the Opera.
