I've always thought that regardless of the quality of the music, image is important as well. The music should be good enough to speak for itself, but it shouldn't speak for itself if you know what I mean. Why stop at just making good music just to prove a point that it can stand on its own, when you can also offer the image, attitude, show etc. That's why I never understood grunge. It's like they went out of their way to NOT put on a show or have a good image just to prove that the music was all that matters, but why sacrifice giving the fans a good show as well? It's not gonna change the music. Rant finished That wasn't really relevant but I had to get it off my chest.

Look at what holy did ..... she said she'll NEVER go that low , and the clothes keepts coming off in the videos , and the dance gotten more dirty ...... what's going on ...
a case of "i know my voice isn't really much , but my ass will tak the focus of it ??? " ...
i don't care what they dress like , but i can't ignore how bad there songs gotten while more body parts started showing ....

i guess most of the ones with the not so much of a voice end up with the dirty shit to compinsate , and those with a good voice have all the class , look at shania , she's god damn sexy and has a very good voice , a nice sexy vid every now and then sound good , depending on the song , but not in every ocasion ....

In all seriousness....... I really think that Christina has a fantastic voice. The songs she sings are shit, but she can really sing. I have seen her live, and she hits some awesome notes. ALOT better than Britney Spears can sing, and WAAY better than Avril. I don't mind Avril at all though because she seems real, and her songs arnt OVERLY CRAP, but I heard her do a cover of SOAD's Chop Suey live, and she cannot sing to save herself

I think something you're all missing here is the Video Producer. She *may* have a small say in what concept is used but I think at the end of the day the record company is portraying her in the light THEY believe will sell CD's/Video's.

I can't stand this shit (teeny pop music like hers & Britney's), so I ain't defending it as such - just making sure you're aware of the fact that these artists aren't always in control of their images.
