Good Charity Ideas

Me and a few friends are going to be walking to Flagstaff from Phoenix, AZ this summer. It's about 140 miles and we're doing it in the middle of August (110 degrees daily). We want to do it for a charity and raise some money. I'm looking for any suggestions of good, unique charities that may mean something special to you or or are just for a really good cause. I was thinking along the lines of an environmental cause but whatever you got. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
