Sort of an odd question, but can someone suggest a good pickup for high gain/rolled off tone tones? Guitar body will most likely be mahogany, if that helps.

Depending if money plays a role in your choice, I've recently also been searching for a nice PAF type pickup and have fallen in love with the Bare Knuckle "Black Dog" Vintage Hot pickups from the clips I've heard they can do it all from great rock (clean and over-driven) tones to a nice modern metal tone as well - take a listen to the clips at the Bare Knuckle site: Bare Knuckle "Black Dog"

But - they come at a price of $320 a set, but I'm really considering them in the running for my next pickups.

I got a 7 string BK Warpig in a basswood bodied guitar that sounds good w/ the tone turned completely down. Don't know how it will sound in a mahogany bodied guitar though.

so you're looking for a really dark and mellow tone I guess?
I'd check the Gibson pickups perhaps

More like this kind of tone,

I'm not having a problem getting this kind of tone, I was just wondering what pups out there right now would accentuate it.

Gibson 500T or Duncan Invader. I used them both on mahogany bodies. They are pretty close to what you are looking for IMO.
