Equilibrium - Turis Fratyr

I actually quite like that album. I heard they're coming out with a new album next year I believe & I will bet it will be a huge step up. Well, I can keep my fingers crossed here, but they have potential that I don't think they completely tapped into on the debut.

I just got Obtest's "Iš Kartos Á Kartŕ". To my ears this sounds like the epitome of Viking Metal, although it's too jolly sounding to keep any real interest for long from me...

I heard "Equilibrium - Sagas" was supposed to be released roughly "September 2007", but evidently that's from the same site which had me keeping an eye our for "Gyvybes Medis" as the name of the new Obtest. bastards.

Viking metal doesn't equal folk metal plain and simple. If you're going to admit to the existence of viking metal as being a separate genre, then Temnozor, Pagan Reign, and a bunch of bands you listed aren't really Asatru/Viking themed.

Yes they are, not sure if I'd consider them to be Viking themed...haven't really taken a look at the themes to be honest. I highly suggest them though.

fuck viking themed. if Avril Lavinge sings about vikings over distorted guitars that is not viking metal.
