Hey guys im looking to buy a vocal mic around the £200uk mark,
what would you advise ?
most people have said a shure 58 ? i have a shure beta 57 would there be any point getting a 58 or is there something better i should be going for.

thanks

Haha, your thread title makes fuck all sense!

Iäm gonna say a Röde nt1-a, i got mine for £120 but you can probably pick it up for less now!

i got a Rode NT2-a and its pretty damn good!

wicked for vocals.. and tryed it on acoustic.. sounded amazing..but i seemed to get some hissing when compressing the guitar that was realy noticable.. so for guitar i'd get a more expensice one lol

but for vocals its wicked!

id go for an at4040 over a nt1a. i also prefer my studio projects b1, at2020 and samson co1 over my rode nt1a. the 4040 is a very good sounding and versatile vocal mic imho. im going to buy another for a stereo pair. you seriously have to spend ALOT more to get better than the 4040. id also consider an sm7 if you have a decent pre. you will "grow out" of the nt1a for sure.
