Ladies and gentlemen, the nominations for Best Metal Performance at the Grammys are:

Korn, "Here to Stay"
P.O.D., "Portrait"
Slipknot, "My Plague"
Stone Sour, "Get Inside"
Rob Zombie, "Never Gonna Stop (The Red, Red Kroovy)"

I don't do this very often, but I can't help myself...

Yay, maybe Slipknot will win it this year!

(Was it the best metal album last year? No. But it will be hilarious when legions of tr00 fans scream bloody murder about how they shouldnt have won and then add on the end "but who cares about the Grammy anyway"). :D

what's with that?

Non of those are reall metal. Well I guess Slipknot is, but they're the epitomy of everything that's BAD about metal...

In fact I'm pretty sure none of those bands even claim to be metal.... so what's with that?

Lats years nominations were actually alright, Slayer, Slipknot and Iron Maiden all got a nod. Then Tool won.

that is a mis-representation of the heavy metal genre. These people have to wake up to themselves.

Heh.

If Slipknot win my friend Brandon is gonna be crapping on about how I was wrong in saying Slipknot sucks. They do still.

The Grammys wont change my mind.

I hope Rob wins though.

Didn't I read somewhere that Silpknot was splitting up? Or was I just dreaming? Anyhow, the Grammys are not a significant indicator of what is the best in anything. It's just a back-slapping ceremony for people who've sold buckets of records. If the Grammys were about who was making great records instead of best-selling ones, the nominations would be:

Opeth
Soilwork
Dream Theater
In Flames
Arch Enemy

Not a bad category at all

And yes, Slipknot are splitting up.. although they are releasing one more album, then calling it quits. Thank god...

The only time the Grammys were good were when Living Colour won one for the magnificent Time's Up album in 1989 or thereabouts.
