Anyone seen the Grammy nominations for best metal performance? Slayer, Slipknot, Black Sabbeth, System of a Down, Tool... okay, so there are a few good bands in there but is this what it all boils down to for metal? I guess the Grammy's are pretty mainstream though, but still, this is a pretty narrow view of the genre. Speaking of awards though, does anyone know if the industry has an awards night just for metal (that cover all styles and sub-genres)? Like do they have a Scandanavian metal awards show for example?
I know awards aren't really that important - hell, if you like what you hear who cares what other people think - but it would be nice for some of the great bands out there to get some recognition.
