This thread will be dedicated to the lead up and wrap up of my travels. ROCK. ON.

out of those I would like to see

Iron Maiden
Ozzy Osbourne
Aerosmith
Korn
Black Label Society
Tiamat

Id love to see Korn purely for the fact that Terry Bozzio is drumming with them.

That's awesome man!

I'm thinking of going to Grasspop too. Or at least catch Maiden and Metallica (amongst all the other bands) at some festivals in Europe.

Not sure Metallica will be doing the festival circuit this year, as they are entering the studio in March, and I assume they will carry on with recording for a release around November. They will no doubt tour here next year anyway, so it's all good.

Maiden on the other hand...

hahaha... maybe this will force you to listen to Pain of Salvation!
That was what I thought also lol. I am about 3 years overdue, so I should get to it. What album should I start with again?

interesting who's bringing the Eggs "Sharon"
Yes, I wondered if this was even perhaps the first gig they will have played together since then. I wonder if that incident will get a mention.

Well the new one Scarsick is still kicking my ass. And they will probably play a few of the songs live so.... might be the best idea. The second last song sounds like This Love (or is it just Love?) from Pantera.

Other than that, you have to get Remedy Lane and The Perfect Elephant. 2 of the best albums ever :headbang:

Well I was very wrong about Metallica. They will be headlining the Rock Werchter festival only days after Graspop, and less than 100k's away. We have decided to go to Rock Werchter as well, here is the lineup.

Metallica
Muse
Marilyn Manson
Mastodon
Pearl Jam
Beastie Boys
My Chemical Romance
Bjork
Kaiser Chiefs
Tori Amos
Faithless
Keane
Incubus
Bloc Party
Arctic Monkeys
The Chemical Brothers
The Kooks
Arno
Damien Rice
Gabriel Ros
The Good The Bad And The Queen
Klaxons

More bands for both festivals to be announced soon! I am hoping to get flights booked in the coming couple of weeks. Yeah.

Spruce: Last night I listened to Scarsick, and the vocals were just too much, they turned me off. A little bit in that style wouldn't be such a bad thing, but there was just too much. The music was pretty cool though.

What style?
His voice is fucking awesmome!
Are you talking about the kinda rap style he does on the first 2 songs?
He only does it on the first 2 and not really at all on their previous albums.
He is very influenced by Mike Patton in his vocals

On the Metallica thing, the less they spend in the studio the better, they used to make good albums in a matter weeks

this off topic post, brought to you buy my friend beer :headbang:
