A great debut album can really set a band's career off in the right direction. Discuss debut albums from bands that went on to further greatness. Or a newer band's debut that you will be expecting more of the same from them in the future.

Some that come to mind are...

hmmm well in addition to the one's you listed I'd add:
graveland- carpathian wolves
arghoslent- galloping
overkill- feel the fire
morbid angel- altars
deicide- s/t
possessed- 7 churches
destruction- infernal overkill
black sabbath- s/t
celtic frost- morbid tales
mercyful fate- melissa

Emperor topped ITNE? That's pretty dubious. Personally I'd question that Megadeth topped KIMB, but that's just me.

I think there may be a misunderstanding here. I'm asking for great debut albums from bands who went on to create even more awesome music not necessarily better. But for the sake of discussion I'd have to agree that Emperor never topped ITNE or any black metal band from the second wave for that matter. The only album IMO from that era that deserves to be considered it's rival would be De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. As for KIMB I would say Megadeth's peak was at Rust In Peace.
