On September 2nd 2006, an all day metal festival was born, aiming to raise awareness that there are actually some decent underground metal bands out there. We felt that overseas bands tend to overshadow most of the obvious talent that is on display in this country.
The inaugral event saw the likes of Sanzen and River Freshney co-headline the event, along with a strong Nottingham lineup.
In its second year, Gruntfest aims to up the ante and become Nottingham's premier metal all dayer, bringing in talent from across the country.
