Got a text message the other day from someone "in the know" who had spoke to some "bloke in a pub" and he said he had heard the names Children of Bodom , Sonata Artica and Gamma Ray mentioned ! .
... or Borknagar! Sheesh... how many times do I have to mention it before Vince takes any notice? Anyway, going completely out on a limb, my guess for 2004 lineup:FOURWAYKILL said:what about getting some heavyer stuff over like amon Amarth or hypocrisy or even the dear old Entombed boys?

Friday:
Children Of Bodom
Sinner
Warlord
Invey
Saturday main stage:
Grave Digger
Hammerfall
Magnum
Edenbridge
Primal Fear
Balance Of Powert
Cruachan
Tyla
Saturday second stage:
Fourway Kill
Poison Black
Reign Of Erebus
Viking Skull
Lionsheart
???
Essentially, I don't really have much of a clue for bands to play the second stage. I haven't seen many small bands recently that would be suitable. I've included Reign Of Erebus to appeal to the extreme metal crowd, even though I thought they were crap! Poison Black put on a decent show supporting Lacuna Coil, and Viking Skull are good for a laugh. The newly reformed Lionsheart *have* to be worth a punt. Steve Grimmet's an awesome frontman, as evidenced by those lucky enough to see Seven Deadly Sins.
Ha! Beat you... there were 4 of us watching them at the Underworld! As I've mentioned elsewhere, it's the only gig I've seen where the band (5 of them) outnumbered the audience. I agree, though. Steve in pretty much any form would be great. My only disappointment from the Seven Deadly Sins gig was that they played Lionsheart and Grim Reaper material, but nothing from Onslaught (where he did probably his best work -- "Welcome to dying" is a masterpiece). But Lionsheart have just released a new album, and they'd be perfect for Bloodstock.Eagle said:Seven Deadly Sins were awesome. If only they'd been promoted better. I saw them support Deeds (Dirty Deeds) a year or so ago and there was only 3 of us who bothered to watch them. I'm so glad that I did get there early to see them. I wonder what Lionsheart will be like now? Maybe Grim Reaper or Onslaugt would go down well too. Fuck it - lets just get Steve solo then he can play stuff from all his previous bands.
Yep, although they'd really have to be on the main stage now, which I can't see happening. To have them lower on the bill than FWK would be a bit of an insult, I think...Baletempest said:Tet: I'll back Borknagar all the way, excelent band.

That would be a no, then. After Vortex left, they recruited Vintersorg to replace him, and recorded the masterpiece that is "Empiricism". The next album is due in April, and it's probably the CD I'm most anticipating for 2004 (or maybe the new Judas Priest).Noj said:Aren't Borknagar split up? Seeing as Vortex left and joined dimmu bogrot?
Well, CoB and SA have been confirmed. Does this mean Gamma Ray for Friday night mabey?wolfhoff said:Got a text message the other day from someone "in the know" who had spoke to some "bloke in a pub" and he said he had heard the names Children of Bodom , Sonata Artica and Gamma Ray mentioned ! .
