Guilty of rehashing their own material?

Running Wild have become specialized in rehashing their own material too. And it pains me to say that since I'm a long time fan...

Well, their (well, his) last three albums sucked. They were only able to keep rehashing up for 2 albums, those being Masquerade and The Rivalry.

Sorry but majority of Exodus riffs after Bonded By Blood sound exactly the same. Majority of the riffs on the new album sound like the song 'the last act of defiance' also. They really could atleast try.

Oh and I really liked Victory by Running Wild, it was my first album by them and will always hold a special place. I started late I know.

I have edited some personal attacks. I would like to see that people respect the personal opinion of "The Greys". He has given reasons why he thought Exodus should be mentioned in this tread. If you disagree with him please give reasonable arguments.

I PMed those involved [including "The Greys"] and asked them to respect our rules. As far as I am concerned this issue is solved now. Chill out and enjoy the topic.

================================

As far as I am concerned I am glad that Exodus is back to the total riffage of Bonded by Blood. I like that a lot. There are two kinds of bands. Band that you expect to change like Rush and Dream Theater and those that are good in keeping more or less the same.

When Motorhead released "A Perfect Day" I was not happy, believe me. I don't want Moterhead to change that much. Because they are damn good at doing what they do with they particular sound and style.

That also goes for Exodus, AC/DC and a few other bands*IMHO*.

I don't consider it an insult when people say that the sound and riffs of Black Sabbath on their 70s albums with Ozzy were very much alike. I still love those albums.

I agree and so does Lemmy. He said the change made with Brian Robertson wasn't the best one, trying to fit the music tio the new guitar and not the other way around as it should be.

I'm kind of ambivalent when it comes to changes in a band style. In one hand I love a band like Motorhead who stick close to the same riffage, song structure, type of music again and again. On the other hand I liked when bands like Amorphis or Sentenced changed from the death approach to the melodic rock one. I don't like the way Metallica or Def Leppard changed, I don't like the way Megadeth, Metal Church, Nightwish, Avalanch are sounding nowdays, but I do like the way Blind Guardian or Saxon had changed throughout their careers.

So it all comes to ear of the beholder in the end :D

I still think that BS evolved quite a bit in the 70s :) Every album brought a few new things IMO.

Not just Hatebreed a lot of hardcore bands (Madball, Earth Crisis, Agnostic Front etc etc) sound quite repetitive.
