Guitar tone quicky!

very nice tone man, but i think drums are being choked after 0.29 a little..btw, why did u use "shuffler", whats the purpose of that ?

Thanks man. This is like my first.. actual good tone.

I probably shouldn't have used the shuffler since it's on a bus. But it's basically a stereo widener, but Wave's version.
and what do you mean drums being choked? lol

your chain should be podfarm > eq

and that's it, the more you try to enhance it with other stuff the worse it's gonna get, i promise. seriously.

and your podfarm chain should be simple too. ts > amp > cab

superior needs way less compression on everything, i know when you're starting off that that snare compressed -99db threshold sound can be cool but after you're engineering for a year or so you'll look back and hear that and think to yourself, wow, that sounds....silly

stereo wideners fail 100% of the time. dual track, hard pan, there's never a reason to be any wider than that

superior sounds mono in this... did you print the drums or something?? that china sounds like it's dead in the center, something really weird about it like it was converted to a low bitrate mp3 and then re-imported ... or something. o_0

p.s. lovin the sig dude, hahaha

Yeah, superiors mono. I was just doing it for the guitars. That was really dumb of me to put the widener on it. I had already hard panned the guitars in Podfarm. Noooob move.

haha loving the what?
You paid $400 for a stereo imaging program?

WAVES had it on sale for $100 a few months back.

I'm fine with the editing on the palm mute parts (I do it a ton on my own stuff), but the open, not palm muted notes just sound sort of funky to me I don't know why. It's not a big deal, and listening to it again, it doesn't even sound that bad, but it was just something I noticed the first time I listened.

oh ok. well. maybe I should stay away from editing the open parts. to make them sound natural?

yeah, i think having them sound more natural (as far as ringing out goes) would make it sound better, but it's up to you. I like my palm mutes to sound robotic when I edit and open stuff to ring out, but it's all preference

This = 110% truth.
