Guitar Woods and Humidity/Weather?

I've noticed that atmospheric conditions like humidity/rain will affect a guitar, especially its intonation.

Are there certain woods that resist this better than others?

I have an ec400 that I bought 9 years ago when I was living in Norway. Then brought it to the really hot and humid North Carolina coast where it's been for about 6 years now. No problems what so ever.
