Following a life-altering car accident, Ottawa-based musician Darren Michael Boyd (Famous Underground, Creeping Beauty) started his solo career as a form of therapy for the physical and psychological complications that resulted. His prolific output has seen five full-length albums, an EP, and more than 20 self-produced music videos.
Boyd’s latest video for the song “Perpetual Night” is the first one to feature his live band.
“It’s so refreshing to finally make a music video that doesn’t just feature me. I love my live band, so it’s great to share the spotlight with them.”
Boyd previously won Best North American Music Video for “Arachnochakra” in the Alternative Film Festival in Toronto.
“Musical artists may not have endless financial resources, but we do have a constant flow of creativity, so why not use it? I’ve produced some decent videos on a budget of $28.”
“Perpetual Night” is the first single from the upcoming album of the same name, to be released in October 2025.
