I wasn't going to post this cuz it's not quite clear enough for my taste but I thought since there are other guitarsuite users here you could give me some advice. It's a short jam to a drum track wfd(with full distortion) posted- no clue where he got it.

It's emg85 straight to soundcard for rhythm guitars and Vamp with the tubescreamer and L2 for the lead. Playing is a tiny bit sloppy I know.

Deaths - I'd say the number one thing about that clip is that you need to work on your pitch. That entire lead bit fell short of the mark, mate.

Liked the drums though!

Nice work!

I keep being surprised how good a free program like guitarsuite actually is.. that being said, i think the guitars could use some processing.. the lead as well (nice playing) could use some extra reverb or a nice delay on it..

Offcourse were missing bass here.. so it's hard to really judge without bass.. i think if you added a nice brutal bass, it would sound better..

It's cool though.. good ideas!

sounds awesome! i'm listening to it on crappy computer speakers right now cus my roland digital monitors are at my studio now, but it still sounds tight. the tone is PURE METAL, maybe a little generic though. the thing about guitarsuite, is even if u tell pros that its an amp, theyll fuckin beleive you. its crazy, i spend hours trying to find a mic position/setup that sounds better than it, but i can't lol! i can't wait to start doing tracking again with my band so we can use that nasty ass program  if u mix that tone with the amp tone, fuggedaboudit!

the main point, KEEP FUCKIN THRASHIN DUDE!!!!!

by the way - ICE NINE BABY!!

i have a question about guitar suite - the jcm900 simulation in particular. the sound i get has a reverb that i haven't seen in any other simulation software (unless you turn on 'reverb', obviously :p).
i may be mistaken, but judging from clips of mic'ed amps posted here, the sound is supposed to be much drier, isn't it?
is this normal (part of the cab simulation maybe  ) ?
or is it just me?

Lol that leadwork sounds way out there. This reminds me of old school Slayer stuff. Not a bad start.

I wonder if we're hearing the same thing then... to me it's like this inherent looseness that I can't seem to fix. I dunno, maybe that's what makes the sound a little more convincing? Even with palm mutes it sometimes seems like the notes slur or something. I was hoping someone here could give me advice on how to tighten it up.

Maybe c4? I definitely agree- guitars need something... The lead actually has the built in vamp delay on it already so I was hesitant to add more. I couldn't even hear the vamp over guitarsuite until I added the guitarsuite tubescreamer though and it gave it this really stiff crunchy feel that didn't sit well with me while I was tracking. Haha I was going for the whole thrashy slayer vibe with that but I actually agree with ether- didn't quite hit the mark. I'll know I've improved as a guitarist when I can do a satisfying lead without redoing it like 100 times lol.

And definitely agreed about the bass- even with the bass on 9 that plugin doesn't fill much lowend, so it can't sound "right" until theres some bass in the mix.

Yeah, actually I think we're on the same wavelength here. You can't really hear that in a full mix but it makes everything quite loose!

care to share your settings? I love guitarsuite!
The guitar/pickup seems really important to how it should be set but I guess I can post em.

tubescreamer-
Gain: 5.905
Tone: 7.322
Leve: 8.031

jcm900-
Channel: B
DriveChB: 8.110
Low: 9.055
Mid: 7.952
High: 6.456
Presence: 5.748
Volume: 5.039

ICE NINE BABY!!

haha it's been so long since I put that as my sig I missed that at first. That book was way too awesome.

yep that's right... it'd sound more appropriate on a lead - but i'd like having the option of changing the amount of reverb, or turning it off.

is guitar suite still in development?
