Just saw them on the VMA Awards.

Oh. My. God.

They looked like Limp Bizkit gone wrong and Axl's vocals were simply painful. I can't describe how shocking they were. Again, what a great chance for hard rock to come back by having a classic LA metal band on an awards show, and look what happens. This will do nothing but turn people off hard rock.

Shit I forgot that was on , was reading my new classic rock mag , whilst watching "Sleeping with the Enemy" again....... michelle turn for a Foxtel pick.......

Were they really that bad , whats this "Bucket Head" dud like did he have a bucket of KRC on his noggon as I read very were , actully there was a pic in the mag I was reading.......

Yeah the dude was actually wearing a KFC bucket on his head

Axl's voacal were terrible

Just saw it-fucking abysmal!

What a disgrace to the lengendary Appetite era Guns. :(

Axl sounded like a cat that had been picked up by the knackers and swung around someones head - I sing Paradise City better than that when I slaughter it doing karaoke!!

Buckethead should change his name to Knobhead - a member of Gn'R wearing a mask and an empty KFC bucket...what in the name of Jeebus is that about

I'm gonna put on Appetite and weep gently into my beer - how the mighty have fallen

It looked like Buckethead was more a hired gun for GnR on that night. If he is in the permanent "new" GnR lineup...more power to him. But seriously...check out some of his solo stuff...some really innovative playing. Doesnt need to shred to appear fantastic...but can shred with the best of them. At one stage I think some people suspected he was Steve Vai in disguise.

Yeah buckethead is an amazing guitarist, but what the fuck is he doing in Guns and Roses? It was like a bad cover band!

I'm glad I didn't stay up for the awards. I taped them and watched them in about half an hour this morning. Guns n Roses were abysmal. In fact, the entire show was one big cringe moment for me. :erk:

I watched the whole thing from start to finish and chronicled the happenings in my journal, making fun of just about everyone. I was very bored.
I hope that by next year you are so rich and famous that you get an award and I can make fun of you too ;) :D

I'd had rather they played entire songs, but othwerwise I though they were quite good. The band was very tight, although I see no need for three guitarist.
Axel sounded as great, and as crap, as usual.

The image of the band, and respective members was f'cked though.

I just read your journal Spawn.

Why is everyone picking on Axel's voice? He sounds the same as he always did. At least you know he was singing live.

i only watched the end of it for GnR......here is my opinion

The actual band played pretty well, even though they arent GnR and i didnt particulary like their image, look like Marylin Manson rejects.

Axl's vocals were terrible. One of the worst live performaces (vocally) i have ever heard

Axl has to relize he isnt GnR, the other dudes (Slash etc) made GnR, fuck you AXL!

I thought the band played pretty tightly as well... Buckethead is a permanent member of the band too I'm sure because he's been touring with them since last year.

Sydo, I don't think I heard Axl even sing one note in tune. His attemps at the high screams were painful and the rest was like he was out of breath. He probably has heart and cholesterol problems now by the look of him which might explain him not being able to hold a note for more than a second. It was awful.

"I reckon axle must eat at least 4 of those buckets a day"

   That was the best comment I've ever seen hahaha!

And yep the band's image now is shocking. I mean everybody knows they aren't the real Guns N Roses anymore, but they didn't even look like a bad tribute band imo. They looked like members of various alternative/industrial bands having a jam on some Gunners material with some awful singer they found at a karaoke bar on vocals.

But Axel has always sounded bad. Even on the studio albums he sort of struggled.
If you listen to that Live Era double album thingy, you'll see that he hasn't gone downhill that much.

Did you really think it was even passable Sydo? He kept missing words all the time, like Vince Neil! He did do a lot of running around though. The whole thing just didnt sit right with me, I must say.

P.S. Respect is due to a man who can read through all that drivel I posted at once :D
