i always thought the word "moist" was gross.

I dated a girl who hated that word. That and "pussy." Moist pussy isn't something I'd ordinarily find myself saying, but around her, I couldn't help myself.

Yeah, not that proper clinical terms are much better. Maybe it's much more to do with the semiotic value that those words carry than it is about the actual pronounciation of them, and the resulting onomatopoeic connotations.
