Hello, I thought some of you here maybe in mildly interested in this:

"GWYNBLEIDD, a diverse death/black/folk metal project from Brooklyn, NY will once again enter DMD studios (Brooklyn) at the beginning of May 2007 to start recording its first full-length album. The band will record all drums and main guitar parts at DMD with assistance from engineer Thomas Gajewski, who recently performed sound engineering duties while touring with PRIMUS. It has also been confirmed that mixing the album will none other than the acclaimed Swedish producer/musician Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, BLOODBATH, KATATONIA, OPETH). Tentatively titled "Nostalgia", the CD will be "an hour-long journey and will contain eight tracks of dark, melancholic, and aggressive metal music that cherishes melodies of a forlorn yet warm kind most of all," according to a press release.

GWYNBLEIDD released its debut EP, "Amaranthine", independently in 2006, and garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews. "Amaranthine" has been carried through The End Records distribution since August of 2006. Beginning of 2007 marked two notable live appearances: once during a weekend-long set of performances with Ballet Deviare in New York City, and the other as part of the Heathen Crusade Festival in St. Paul, MN. Although GWYNBLEIDD continues to operate independently, labels, booking agents and other interested parties are welcome to inquire for more information at info@gwynbleidd.com.

GWYNBLEIDD has scheduled a one-off performance on April 24 in New York City with NOVEMBERS DOOM, SATURNUS and THURISAZ."

We're very much looking forward to working with Mr. Swanö, recording starts this weekend! :)

I saw you guys at Heathen Crusade. Damn good set. I really wish I had gotten a copy of the EP while I was there.

You can still pick it up through our page if you use paypal.. its free shipping so it really makes no difference. glad you liked it, we hope to make it to chicago some time soon.

Well, it has begun! Nostalgia recording session has officially begun. Today we've loaded Adam's drums into the recording studio and did most of the sound setup. (its 4:00 AM now and I just got home so even writing this in a semi coherent manner is a challenge)

We're actually not recording at DMD as announced earlier, but rather at the office studio of SIA Acoustics. SIA is a company here in NYC specializing in acoustic architecture - basically they develop plans for recording studios, performance halls, etc. Their work has been featured in Mix magazine among others, so we're very lucky to be able to utilize their home studio and equipment. They were also partly responsible for the amazing sound we were able to get during our recent Ballet Deviare gigs.

Tomorrow drum recording begins. I'll do my best to take some photos and post them here if anyone is curious. Hey maybe eventually even sound samples as well.. We'll see!

Well they're done. We finished the drums last night. We're pretty happy with what we got, but I'll let you be the judge of that when the time comes ;)
I think we got the snare and kick ddrum mikes like you wanted but not on the toms unfortunately...
