"I already finished my popcorn bucket at this time"

The same thing is valid for many softwares. Their anti-piracy crap always fucks a thousand times more the legit consumer than the pirate. For example, dongles and locks are stupid, resource hog, takes one USB port and if you lose/break you´re in a world of trouble. Some games comes with a anti-piracy system called SecuROM, that not only is absolutely useless, but also fucks HARD with the legit consumer. That shit is a virus that crap all over your computer, and you still have to put the DVD everytime you wanna play. Ask the pirate if they need to go through all this shit on the cracked version.

so true...I have made copies of every original dvd I own, and most of the times I want to see a movie I just put the pirated copie, I can't stand so many useless bullshit

Yeah I hate those fucking things in the beginning of DVDs.

"YOU WOULDN'T STEAL A MOVIE - DOWNLOADING PIRATED MOVIES IS STEALING"

That thing lasts for quite some time too. Why are they punishing those who actually buy DVDs?

Technically if it's your bought and paid for copy, it's not illegal until you sell it or give it away.

I'm personally sketchy on the giving it away aspect though...if it's yours, why aren't you allowed to give it to someone as a gift?

Making a digital copy and putting it up on a torrent I can see as illegal because that's mass distro without prior permission. Even if they were "selling" them on torrents the distro companies can sue because no contract.

I try to make personal copies of every disc I have, and make disc images of all the software I have with a secure document with the license key. But I shouldn't be compelled to to enjoy my product directly.

This crap really got me upset a week ago. Bought a DVD (with a sticker that says "i am copy protected") and neither my girlfriends DVD player nor my one was able to play it. Even the PC refused to do so. What worked was ripping the DVD to my harddisk... :Smug:

Edit: Spelling...

This happened to me with Maiden's Dance of Death cd years ago. The copy protection made it impossible for me to listen to it so I had to fuckin' dl the bastard on torrent.

Then after a while the mastering on that album made it impossible for me to listen to it.

I know ! These fucking unskippable commercials bug the shit out of me. Sometime you can hit menu and get right to it, but most times you have to wade through all that bullshit
