I just want to thank Steve Asheim for single-handedly carrying the band through some tough years.
I've heard the new album and, while not as good as the last one (which was one of, if not THE best DM album EVER) it rocks.
Steve is an under-rated drummer, but also isn't given enough credit for his songwriting. Benton gets all the press for acting like an idiot, which is fair enough, but Steve deserves a hell of a lot of praise for keeping this band going.
Blackie Lawless, Dave Mustaine, Jeff Waters, Mikael Akerfeldt - guys that single handedly carry their bands and keep on producing albums. Steve Asheim is in the same boat as these guys.
Only difference is, Steve's writing keeps getting better while those bands turn to shit.
