Halford to tour summer/fall 2010

Wow, that's killer news...I hope he still has Bobby Jarzombek in his touring band, but this should kick some serious ass regardless. I'm also curious to see who he brings out as support. Based on the ill-fated Metal Gods tour, it seems like he's interested in giving some exposure to bands on their way up, it would great to see that continue.

HELL YES!!!! I honestly thought he'd never tour as Halford again. Very pumped for this. Now if only those dates will get announced. :headbang:

The only problem is that Rob, live, these days, is....not that good...And that's sad cause the guy is a legend. I was so disappointed by his performance when I saw Priest live in 2005 and 2008. Very static on the stage, looks like a very old man, always needs his teleprumpter, good with his midrange, but struggles with his higher range...I'd be surprised it would be better 2 years later...

After having seen Saxon live for the first time last month, with Biff at 59 (he's even a few months older than Rob), it's like day and night concerning their performance on the stage. Byford still has it big time, is energetic on the stage, talks and jokes with the crowd, and still possesses his full range (that of course was never the same than Halford to start with but that doesn't matter).

I saw Halford opening for Maiden in 2000 and Rob sang great. But it looks like the last few years were not very good for him. Maybe he should concentrate on the studio now cause he still can sing with his great mid-range. But hearing songs like Painkiller live now is quite painful...He should definitely stop doing this kind of "hard" songs now and try to sing the ones more convenient for his current vocal range.

Personally, I think he's fine live. However, I have heard clips of him from shows I haven't been to where he doesn't sound good at all, so it's probably one of those things where it's hit or miss with him. Yeah he does the prompter which I don't like too much but whatever. He's getting old. The thing is he hasn't always been the most energetic, i.e. running around the stage, type of front man but I find his performance pretty damn good except for maybe a few songs. The weird thing is you say he can't hit the highs, yet every time I see him he always nails that end to "Victim of Changes". Like I said though, it's probably hit or miss and for me, I've never seen him perform the Halford or Fight songs live, so it would be worth it for me.

Halford still kicks ass! I saw him the last 2 years and while he is kind of sedantary on stage (he's old remember) his voice is still great! I was surprised that he can still hit some of them :p

Meh, I personally was looking forward to a potential NOSTRADAMUS tour.
Seems that won't ever be happening at this point.

As was I. I am truly disappointed that they didn't. It almost seems like a waste now that they released it and are not doing it. I guess they're probably too scared due to the mixed fan reaction to the album. I still bet if they did it in a couple venue specific shows it would still work.

I've been a huge JP fan for over 30 years, loved Fight, Halford and can't wait to see Rob on tour again. However, to me, Nostradamus was one of the biggest disappointments in their (his) history. I listened to it twice- BORING!!!!! haven't picked it up since, and can't imagine a whole tour based on it.
