So we made it our goal to write and record a Halloween song in a week, and we did it using:
A windows computer (fail)
Cubase 4
SSD - Black Kit
Line 6 Pod Farm
Not a very expensive studio microphone
Rolan XP-30 Keyboard (for fx)
T-Racks (for mastering)

So, there's a lot going on in this song. So it sounds pretty muddy. Hard to hear everything that's going on. However after hours of fiddling with it I just couldn't get the mix to NOT sound muddy.
What I'm showing you all is the best I could make it, which is why I could use some advice.
Any tips on making it sound clearer/less muddy?

Help is most appreciated. Happy Halloween :)

Jeez I was just messing with mastering and I think I get it sounding good to my ears and then I hear some of these masters and your unmastered version is way louder than one of my masters. How do get so damn loud?!?

Mix sounds pretty good to me! Maybe bring some high-mids out of the rhythm guitars to clear things up there?

That's good advice dude I'll try it out, thanks!

It might be loud because there are like 35+ tracks in the mix, and consequently I had to turn the drums/guitars up like, 4db from baseline. So it's just mixed loudly.
Come to think of it, that might be why it sounds muddy. But I messed with the levels for a while and couldn't get it sounding better.
Man, idk, lol.
