Halloween

I recall seeing him quoted as saying it wasn't originally exactly how he wanted it, and the original was more a result of compromise. I am looking forward to it.

Yeah!

And here's to hoping it may reinvigorate the franchise, which has been pumping out crap for a while now. *says he who is never even going to bother seeing hellraiser 8 or whatever they're up to now*

Don't like workprints or bootlegs if they're lacking in quality compared to a retail release, as this one seems to be. So I tend to only pirate retail DVDs.

And going to the theaters for a new movie I might enjoy is a wonderful thing to do! <3 movies

Indeed. But given how unimpressed I've been by most horror remakes, and how The Devil's Rejects left me feeling neither impressed nor insulted, I don't know if this is worth the bother.

just an aside, but does this count as warrel's wholesale endorcement of "illegal" downloading? ;)

I must be in the minority who has no major faults with The Devil's Rejects. Truth be told, I only saw it the one time in the theater, but it was a rolling good time. Following my appreciation for House of 1000 Corpses, Zombie has yet to do any wrong (recent musical output aside), though I still approach a new release warily.

"Warrel punched me in the dick!" I'm not sure I'd wear that as a badge of honor, but then, I'm not the type to stand there and let someone aim for my balls without making it hard for them to do so.

The only thing I didn't like about The Devil's Rejects was the final... 20 minutes or so. I know he needed to set up a spectacular ending, but it got too unrealistic to the point I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have.

that's only one reason why high school was so stupid; you'd walk into the commons before it started and the jocks were all doing 'feats of strength' or some shit and seeing who could take the most cockpunches before crying.

at least they were doing their part to prevent passage of the stupidity gene i guess

I liked the ..Rejects ending, mainly because I felt more or less apathetic to the plot, characters, setting...everything, by this point, and found the notion of "OMGZ PLAY FREEBIRD TO SLOW MOTION SHOOTOUT!!11" not so disagreeable.

Inferno, is a fascinating film, I find, but I'm sure attaching it to the Hellraiser mythos was a last minute deed to get the script into production.
Oh, on it's own, yes, certainly, but though they put pinhead in for more than Hellraiser had him, AND he had that long speech, I felt a little shortchanged for a long time, since I was expecting him throughout the movie. If you DON'T look at it as a Hellraiser movie strictly though, yes, it's a good watch.

I don't even remember how it ends. Opinion invalidated? perhaps, but an unrealistic over the top ending was also a great aspect of House of 1000 Corpses. Though, The Devil's Rejects exists within a different realm than the wacky comic book antics of the first. Still sayin', what I remember, it was great.

I dunno, I suppose I wasn't in the proper mood to watch it as it is. I'll give it another spin at some future point.
