Just got it. Vast improvement over the last one, I think. Favorite track right now is Dia De Los Muertos, where Cans sings in Spanish adooooorably.

Anyone else got it?

Whatcha think?

CHEEEEEEEEEEEEESE!!!

Overall I'm not impressed. There is a few stand out tracks but in the end its a pretty average album. I much prefer Ex Hammerfall guitar player Stephen Elmgren's new project FULLFORCE which blows this album away.

Also whats up with the terrible album cover? Hammerfall needs HECTOR!

Doesn't even come close to No Sacrifice, No Victory - that cd blew me away:rock: This new one is just ok. Listened to it twice so far not really warming up to it. And the cover really sucks shit. Bring back HECTOR!!!

Huge Hammerfall fan here. I have been listening to Infected for the past few days, and spun it twice today. So here's my 2 cents...

I think this album is a huge step forward for Hammerfall. It's head and shoulders above their last several albums. Production/mix wise, this album is stellar. It sounds massive. The songs go slightly into a more mature area, which is needed. They seem to be playing and singing with more conviction. And "Bang Your Head" is one of the best anthems I've heard them do.

The lack of Hector on the cover is a sign they are trying to change things up. The black cover for this album sucks, the white one in the booklet is a little better. (Check out the booklet, the artwork/layout is killer, even though zombies have been overdone.)

Overall, I'd give it a thumbs up, but your money is probably better spent on the new Rods, Anvil or Pagan's Mind.

Full Force is hardly new. I have the ONE album they put out some years ago. It sounds like HammerFall. Bjorn from Freak Kitchen signed it for me, and was pretty surprised (aka "Where the FUCK did you find this???") when I gave it to him to sign. :D

The new album is absolutely fantastic. A few tracks remind me quite heavily of Legacy of Kings, which makes me very, very happy. I attribute this to the return of Fredrick Larsson. I also think Pontus Norgren's guitar playing is taking HF to a higher level than Elmgren's ever could. Elmgren is good, no doubt, and he always seemed to be able to play anything he was asked to play, but his creativity was rather limited. And believe me, when Elmgren left, I was feeling all fangirly and resentful towards Pontus. And then I saw Pontus live and can honestly say "Stefan, who?"

Overall, this is a really strong album.

And yes, the album art does suck. But that's okay. It just makes this album a diamond in the rough - bad packaging, but a gem inside. HammerFall has yet to completely disappoint me.

 no. There's a reason Anvil never made it big. It's because they're terrible.

I actually think the new Anvil is absolutely stellar... Been spinning it for about 2 weeks now and I love it.

Anvil may not be the greatest band of all time, but Juggernaut of Justice is my album of the year so far.

It's been on my to-get list for a while, but I'm thinking after all these good things I've been hearing about it, I really have to pick it up.

As for Hammerfall, just got it yesterday, but I have quite a bit to get through such as the new Saxon, Amorphis and Hell amongst others probably before I get to listening to Infected.

Are you guys confused with the band's name and talking about Stefan Elmgren's FULL STRIKE - We Will Rise album from 2002?

If so, it was good, but sounded like Hammerfall left over songs IMO. I prefer the Hammerfall discs over it, including the new one.

Full Force is Elmgren's new project, and it's a supergroup. Full Strike was a 2002 project that was essentially a solo album.

Now Infected, I don't know that I like it better than Hammerfall's early albums, but this is probably the first time I've found a Hammerfall album interesting. I figured there was no way to make their sound fresh, but they succeeded here, without going off into territory that would alienate their fans.

It's not GREAT, but the first album of a slight change in direction often isn't.The next one will probably be better. There's a lot on Infected that works really well and a lot that just doesn't. I Refuse, for me, is the worst Hammerfall song ever. But Patient Zero is pretty darn good.

It's ok after one listen. Too bad it came with the new Amorphis cd, I've spun that about 15 times. That's a pretty good one.

You are talking about two different bands. You are thinking of Stephen Elmgrems FULL STRIKE which released the album "We Will Rise" in 2002. I am talking about his NEW band FULLFORCE which features Mike Andersson from CLOUDSCAPE on vocals. Fullforce will be released at the end of this month, and blows away both the new Hammerfall AND Full Strike.

Yup, I was confused. My bad.

Needless to say, those sure as hell LOOK like the same album. Ridiculously similar cover art.
